Hale is a 19yr old TB gelding. There are not enough good things I can say about him. He is truly amazing. He camps, shows hunters, jumpers, gives lessons, packs around kids, goes bareback and bridleless and bucks on command (and sometimes not...) AND he does all of this with one eye, better than most horses with both. He lost his eye a few years back but it really doesn't affect him.

He likes to goof off with experienced riders, or people that push his buttons. He can launch anyone he pleases, including the trainer and myself - but we usually have it coming because he's really a good boy. He just has an attitude. Its the other side that comes out when you "wake him up."

  • Well I just noticed how proud he looks standing there... he is just beautiful! And my TB has a bad eye on his left side too... and I always say it just gives him character! :) But I know how you feel, everyone always asks me "what happened to his eye?" first thing.

  • Aww thank you. I have always thought he is handsome and I dont notice his missing eye but its the first thing other people see most of the time.

  • He is SOOO gorgeous! I never would have thought he was 19!!! :)

  • yeah we keep waiting for him to tell us when he needs to retire but I don't think its any day soon... he gets all fired up when the jumps get raised. He can go much higher but then I run the risk of getting launched with no saddle!!!! I came off another horse a couple weeks ago so i'm not dying to do it just yet haha
