Asha Tanna travelled to West Uganda in July 2010 to film a project that conservations hope will help safeguard the lives of wild chimpanzee populations in the Budongo Forest.

The goat scheme, run by the Budongo Conservation Field Station, encourages hunters to stop laying wire snares on the forest's floor to catch bush meat, in return for goats to breed.

Snares are one of the biggest threats facing wild chimps all over Africa.

  • Well what do these villagers think is happening when their villages run out of resources? Do they think some sky god is punishing them or are they smart enough to realize that they've eliminated those resource themselves? it seems like when villages start disappearing the other villages would smart up.
