BOD42. Poses the question on whether Kevin Rudd, for political and possibly other reasons, is beginning to argue for even more interference in housing markets to maintain prices at ridiculous levels - at great cost to young Aussies and future generations.

  • You voted for rudd and you got sucked in!

  • Hi.....

the market will correct it, but creedy human beings will never learn.

The building standards and quality of houses in AUS are bad and home and land in Australia is very expansive. I can get the same quality in the US for half the money and even in Germany, 20 times smaller than Australia but 4 times the population, I have to pay the same like in Australia but I get the highest building standards and a much much much higher quality .All builders deliver cheap quality , no matter where

  • So they increase the first home buyer grant to help stop the property market making a CORRECTION, and in doing so line the pockets of everybody but the first home buyer!

And now just to rub salt into the wounds of would be home buyers, they relax foreign investment laws for Kevin Rudds Chinese friends to get a foothoold in the market and bypass immigration roadblocks.!

  • i cant believe we Australians are not kicking up a fuss about this, future generations will never move out of home , search on YouTube has not got much on this topic (old stuff), you pay $800k for a run down property, i hope the interest rates hit the roof, the greedy who pushed up the prices will then pay for their stupidity.

  • The Free Market always wins in the end and by 2015 many a home buyer's could discover this fact the hard way.

  • It's said American's gamble on Stocks, Aussie on Real Estate?

  • Brett is correct in his analysis and has done well to make links between Rudds links with property developers and his attempt to maintain the speculative housing bubble. Very inciteful

  • The Australian house price bubble is bigger than the USA's or the UK's... The shit has yet to hit the fan here. I think they will drop by 20-40%
