Vanessa Hudgens In New Movies "Bandslam" and "Sucker Punch"

HSM hottie Vanessa Hudgens has left the Disney Franchise to release a movie about-you won't beleive it-making music at a high school! The big difference between this film which is called "Bandslam" and the series that made her famous is the production studio. The new movie is being backed by the same people that brought us Twilight.

Hudgens says that her relationship with Disney is love/hate because she's grateful for the opportunities that have come her way as a result of High School Musical, but that she feels like people only see her as her geeky, shy character Gabriella. Vanessa is excited to branch out and try new things.

"Bandslam" isn't exactly what we'd call different from what we've seen her do already, but her next leap might be pretty shocking. She will play the lead role in Zack Snyder's film "Sucker Punch" which is about girls trying-at least inside their own heads-to break out of a mental institution. Vanessa and the other actors in the film even use machine guns and the word brothel was mentioned in Vanessa's description....we haven't even seen a trailer and it already sounds like a far cry from High School Musical.

And who knows, maybe this newfound relationship with Summit Entertainment means that Vanessa might still have a shot at Leah in Eclipse

Wow this reporter is nothing less than a COMPLETE MORON. Just b/c Vanessa Hudgens is in Bandslam does NOT make it ANYTHING like High School Musical. It's very different actually and the majority of critics (8/10) and viewers loved it. This woman I bet has never seen the film just as many of the haters havent. Bandslam is no masterpiece, but it is a solid, well done film. Vanessa Hudgens did a great job playing Sa5m. This movie is NOT what you think, so stop prejudging it. It's good

I hope the best for her it's great she does such a great thing for kids and is a great role model/movie star but her branching out is a good idea, just beacause she can make movies that are ideal for kids doesn't mean she chouldn't make any that are ideal for adults as well if she is multi-talented then i say embrace it to the fullest :)

Vanessa will be playing the role of "Blondie" in Sucker Punch, its too bad she is not the lead, but at least this is going to be a different kind of movie. IMAO, i think she can do better as a singer (i love her voice) than as an actress

BandSlam is just another normal romantic-comedy high school teen movie... and what does venessa plays as? another teen girl who was hurt and all but later became the main show on the board... pfftt...

Owh and Venessa is not the main lead for Sucker Punch (thank God), do your homework before you broadcast please.
