September 27, 2006 lecture by Kenneth R. Miller, Ph.D, at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, for an audience of high school students from Loudon County, VA. In this lecture he discusses some of the evidence for evolution from the fossil record, genetics, and genome analysis. The quality is poorer because this segment originally contained a clip of Dr. Miller on the Colbert Report. Viacom had the video taken down. This was the only one I could find to mirror along with the rest of the lecture that had the Colbert stuff edited out.

Forgive my ignorance, but how do Darwin's observations of micro-evolution throw any support for the idea of macro-evolution? Darwin was observing the similarities from fossils and what he found in his day. Nowhere does he say that he found a cross between a whale and a cow. No one has found any fossils that show any transition from one animal kingdom to the next.
