A Y6 is not supposed to have an "out-of-sync" chuff as it was a "compound" mallet. The exhaust from BOTH cylinders would exit thru the front cylinders, Unless in "simple" mode when starting a very heavy train! On the original PCM Y6b, you could press F5, and go into the "simple start-up" mode. It would double-chuff until the unit reached a good crawl, then shift into compound (single-chuff) sound. Sometimes "improved" is not always BETTER!
