made using a germanium diode as a detector.the meter is powered directly by the output of the receiver, the amplifier is used only for hearing loud the signal, but is not required.it works without amplifier with normal and hi impedance phones.

  • That's awesome ! I've also made some detectors using razorblades or galena ( lead (II) sulfide ) but I prefer using germanium diodes in my radios. The homemade detectors seem to work just as well as the germanium diodes though.

  • pai ca sa inteleaga si cei din strainatate. daca nu scriam in engleza nu aveam ocazia sa corespondez cu altii de prin state sau alte tari...in timpul asta dadeai un comentariu la montaj ! ;))

  • I make my own detectors from iron pyrites and razorblades. I've heard stations 300 miles away with a razorblade detector, variable condenser, homemade coil and a piezo earphone.

Eu fac propria mea detectoare de Pirite de fier şi razorblades. Eu auzit staţii de 300 mile distanţă, cu un detector de lamă de ras, condensator variabil, bobina de casă şi un căşti piezo.

Last night I heard a local station using an old penny as a detector. It wasn't nearly as loud as the razor.

  • dar dc ai scris tot in engleza?
