Cecilia Bartoli live in Amsterdam 16 December 2010

Incredible encore in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw on 16 December 2010: Son quel nave ch'agitata, an aria by Riccardo Broschi (1698-1756).
Bartoli is one of the most generous singers around. Mind you, this was her 13th (!) aria of the evening that consisted of Handel arias. Watch how she responds enthusiastically to the audience but holds a firm grip on the music and never loses control of her singing.

Son qual nave ch'agitata
da più scogli in mezzo all'onde
si confonde e spaventata
va solcando in alto mar.
Ma in veder l'amato lido
lascia l'onde e il vento infido
e va in porto a riposar.
