F-14 164601 from VF-101 Grim Reapers takes it's last breath of air before being retired to the Castle Air Museum in Atwater,CA. You can see the last demo of this plane called The Last F-14 Tomcat Demo or F-14...Last Time Baby! here on youtube. NOTE: The Tomcat actually sat there running it's engines for almost 20 minutes till it finally ran out of gas.

  • SO thats how they are displaying their tomcat? Outside in the dirt I would have figured at least a proper indoor display ,that Tomcat arrived in primo shape and now it already looks forgotten the folks at the Castle air museum obviously dont have much respect for what they got and probably charge to see it I say give it to me ill turn my garage into a Tomcat shrine and let people see the once mighty Tomcat for free!

  • how sad, leaving its running till it dies

  • @CrazyHermit

    I would go for that

  • @pasley21 you know what i would do? keep it in its current prime condition, because its gonna be considered a warbird. and take it out for a display every once in a while, so that the tomcat can soar the skies again. not just leave it in a shitty display to rot.

  • @AlfieWilRus I heard that the Tomcat on display at the Pacific Coast Aviation Museum in Santa Rosa, California, is in near-flyable condition. I've seen it - the cockpit is intact and it is well-waxed and painted. All it needs are the engines and time to get it flyable.

  • @Amar7605 Solution: Steal Iran's Tomcats. (I would feel relly bad if I blew up a Tomcat, best damn fighter/interceptor ever.)

  • VF BABY! Those were real damn fighter squadrons..... Grim Reapers, Swordsmen, Bounty Hunters and Jolly Rogers. Jesus, what the hell happened to us?

  • @MrSBChevy I agree that it would be nice to see some American Tomcats flying. But the problem is the the US and Iran are still enemies and since the Tomcat is still a very potent interceptor in the Iranian Air Force, having Tomcats flying would run the risk of spare parts falling into Iranian hands.

  • Since this video was taken, the F-14 at Castle Air Museum has been repainted in a late 70's scheme. . .It's still outside sitting next to other Navy birds. It sits on concrete pads surrounded by lava rock.

  • @MrSBChevy theres a local museum by me that actually put there F14 inside thank god! Florida heat would have killed her quick!

  • this is some sad shit man. ran her engines till she basically died.

they should keep some flying at least for air shows.

you still see B-25's, and P-51's ,and Hurricanes, and WWI planes flying..

and they go and put the tomcats on display, out side in the elements? NO respect for the tom cat, that is a shame.
