Here's a video shot on May 20, 2010 at Shirley, MA. I was out there to catch AYMO which had BNSF engines. It turns out that a commuter train was also scheduled at that time so the freight train had to wait for the commuter train.
The freight train had to stop clear of the station for the safety of passengers boarding/exiting the train who may have to cross the tracks.
After the commuter train leaves, the freight train comes through.
It has an awesome horn! It's very loud!
Has Pan Am decided on a livery (color scheme) of their own yet?

@chetirepyat Yes, dark blue with white lettering and a globe logo on the nose.

is the horn on the bnsf/pam am train twice as loud as the ones on the commuter rail trains? If yes, I wonder why that is?

@Spaceshotx7 For a number of reasons.
1. The commuter train's cab car has a 3-chime horn. The freight has a 5-chime
2. The chimes on the freight engine's horn are larger than the chimes on the commuter cab car's horn.

3. They're travelling in different directions. The west end has more buildings and trees while the east end has more wide open space. The commuter train heading east is coming out of a forested area and blowing the horn into the wide open space. The freight train is heading west from the wide open space into the forested area so the sound bounces off the forested area and back into the open space creating a louder sound.

I caught these same BNSF engines on the 15th.

@TNT314159 yep, they've been running back and forth. NS keeps sending them back. Now if only NS would send us KCS units :D
