@wikingagresor I don't buy into the stereotyping of wrestling as more "forceful" and judo as more "technique-based". I think it is a misconception that a lot of people like to indulge in because of the stereotype of Eastern martial arts being more refined or smart. In fact wrestling can be as technical as judo

It works. :-)

@Einheri89 Good point. Judo can work for pretty much any body type. If you want a good example of a legendary but gangly judoka, look up Anton Geesink, the recently deceased 10th dan.

yeah man the shorter wrestler usually has the shooting advantage, i remember i was vsing some guy that was 5,7 around my weight and iam 6,1 and it was soo damn hard to shoot on him but he could shoot on me alittle bit easier.

hey wrestlers use more raw strength than an judoka, besides theres a huge difference between the two.
However I do see your point, scoring system are the same, but unlike wrestling the smaller & shorter the person is the more advantage they have over larger opponents.
When i started training judo i was thinking just like you, but now i know the difference. In their pursuit after perfection Japanese dismantled every throw into tiny details and named throws after the most importent parts. In wrestling there is much bigger impact on the force. In Judo technical skills are more important. When you execute a throw precisely and perfectly, it comes as natural and with the least force needed as can be.

When you brag about it, it's usually false.
