The new and old testament are written in cryptic. "Thats why it's called the greatest story ever told and not the greatest collection of facts" J maxwell (and I just dont read him).

It's not even a particularly well written story. Filled with contradictions, hokey plot mechanics, and constant self-praise. Nobody would ever read any story that was written as poorly as the Bible unless there was a religion around it which constantly affirmed it.

But yes, certainly the opposite of a collection of facts.

For the Job lightnings verse: God is asking Job if he is capable of doing the things God can do. The closest word for radio waves that existed was lightnings.

It says the reason to bathe in running water is because it cleanses you. 7 days of cleansing is a spiritual thing, but the running water is a physical cleansing thing.

It doesn't seem to discern between the two. If all that were required was that you bathe once under running water, why does it have to happen for seven days in a row? God does not seem very practical on this.

Frankly, it's just not convincing to me. I don't believe they knew that bacteria gathered in their still water.

No offense intended, but this displays your lack of scientific knowledge. Lightning and radio waves are not vaguely similar in form or function. Lightning is a plasma construct of energy, much like the fires of the Sun. Radio waves are literally light waves, which are photons, that are not in the scale of visible light.

I don't expect it to use modern terms, as they didn't exist, but I would at least expect it to use accurate ones. Science is about accuracy and repeatability. The issue with these verses is that they do not display scientific knowledge. They merely line up well to things we have learned now, if taken out of context.

Circumcision is a spiritual thing supposed to mark off the Jews, of little medical significance, but the fact that it says to be done on the eighth day is significant. Of course, you could always say that they just figured that out through trial and error.

You have caught me using a few verses out of context, I'll give you that. However, I think you have set your standards too high for a miracle; you seem to expect it to use modern terms or something.
