This shows how small the Delta Queen is in relation to the lock. Some locks are larger, some are smaller. The biggest one we went through was 93 feet, maybe the largest lock on the whole Mississippi River system.

  • Locks on the Mississippi and Ohio rivers are 110' wide and usually 1200' long.Unless you are using the auxilliary chamber which is 600' x 110.The lift varies depending on where on the river you are.
