You guys should join up with the Mumble team and provide the interface design and graphics that they're missing.

The largest Vent hoster charges $1080/year for a 250 slot server. I haven't found any for $300, but I haven't searched all of them for sure (just a few dozen).
Still, $24.99 is far cheaper than $300 :)

Interesting because my friend has a 250 slot server for our gaming accounts and he doesn't pay more than 300

a keylogger? wow could you not be negative, all you people say when a good thing comes out, Bam isntant negativity imVox is amazing i love it, i have convinced my guild to in wow to bring it up as a choice to use instead of vent for many reasons, way to much feedback as well as bad quality for everyone, i have ran raids with this it is perfect, and i think you are going to blow vent away.

It doesn't cost any to go into a server.
ALL users can host their own 30-slot server for free.
With a Pro account you can host up to 250 users on your server (which is $24.99/year). This would cost you over a thousand dollars to do on Ventrilo.

Wait does it cost to go into servers or just to maintain one?
-
A few reasons
1) Its cheaper. Significantly
2) Our voice quality is often higher (and we're going to drop in a new codec soon that will blow away the competition seriously)
3) We are currently developing the software and will take your feedback. Vent is doing almost nothing to improve their software.
4) Our Mac version will have the same features as the PC- Vent doesn't.
5) The upcoming integration of social networking features and friends.
Vent is missing a lot and is stale and expensive.

Why would I switch from vent to this? its the same thing.
Will this program also support low latency and positional 3d audio like Mumble VoIP? It's kind of fun moving around in CS 1.6 and having a general idea of where your teammates might be just by hearing their voice.

@sodacan187 Our latency levels are really low, as are our CPU and memory usage. We don't support positional audio yet, but if Mumble can do it, so can we. The only thing we can't do it do it for a game that just outright won't support it (or that has a EULA/TOS that disallows us peaking at the memory in the game, like WoW). The easiest ones for us to do will be games that provide the positional data to us.
