This is a song written by YouTuber Dick Appleton (oldmanoldman). It is a lovely song, yet poignant, referring as it does to the deaths of young men and women who have died in conflicts in other countries on behalf of the British forces. The people of Wootton Bassett are reminded of their sacrifice all too often when their coffins are returned to their own shores. It is with great respect that we honour them, but was it really necessary for them to have died in this way?
I thank Dick for allowing me to perform his song and upload it to YouTube.
My apologies if the chord symbols do not match up to the proper point but for some reason of late they do not do so even at normal size windows.
