@anouksmom because the new album is contains two cd's. in another interview, he even says that he discourages pleople to listen to both in a row

Why is he talking bad about albums being 80 minutes, when that's how long his new solo album is going to be?
I love Steven Wilson and his work, but it seems a bit hypocritical however.

Actually the band has said the songs on the EP will be short songs, so I don't expect it to be longer than about 25 minutes. They have announced the album will have 3 different releases: The double album (Disc one: The Incident and disc 2 the EP), a double vinyl, and a special edition.

Hah, yea. i also found that funny after watching this interview. And the "EP" that has been referred to is of similar length to the first 50 minutes CD. It's 4 long songs I think. It's well more than 50 minutes of music total, ironically.

The first disc is essentially the album. The second is just an EP (like Nil Recurring) that'll come with it.

Ironically, Porcupine Tree's new album is going to be a double album. The first disk is going to be one 50ish minute song cycle itself and the second, a few stand-alone tracks. I think that qualifies as "long". Not that it matters, it will be fantastic.
