@TXjuggalette1990 Did you ever think they might grow there own corn and raise there own hay for feed. Never thought of that did ya'? Go back to the city.

Our farm is in northern North Dakota, we've raised grain and cattle there for years. Many oil companies have made my dad offers to buy the family farm, and each time he turns them down. He says "what kind of man would I be if I gave up on this life?" Businesses are growing around our farm, the change is hard to take but I know when I get that farm, I'll say the same thing to the companies that my dad has "This land is NOT for sale". This is why I love this song.

@Johndeerecharger since you work with cattle witch is plural for cows wouldnt you consider yourself a rancher not a farmer... farmers soul things are crops and very little animal stock

I love this. I spent the first 14 years of my life on a poultry ranch. I can really connect with this.

Farmers are some of the toughest people to ever live, this is were i came from and i was rised by my grandpa....Used to watch him come in from a long day with dirt all over him......And i do have to say i think him for teaching me the way of the land....Which is more then i can say for people my age now a days.

also, people think farmers are stupid poor trashy people. I dont think anybody understands how smart you have to bee a farmer, exspecially with math and chemistry. Its AMAZING to see farmers do tough math in their head. Plus most have money to. Even though it takes alot of work and have to invest alot of money, almost all farmers i know are very wealthy. And most of them are your everyday respectable people

i LOVE this song! My grandpa farmed his whole life, my dad is a trucker and helped on the farm until 2001 when they sold most of the machinery so there wasnt enough to farm. Its 200 acres, no cattle anymore. And it kills me inside that i dont live on the farm and i wont get to farm, but i want to live out there. My 3 uncles and grandpas brother and his son farm, most men from my church farm and half my friends are farm people. I love helping out though, cause im counrty through and through

1 city boys daddy sold the farm
LOVE THIS SONG!!! Also ticks me off when people say farmers are stupid, or don't treat their animals good. It's a bunch of factory farms they say. Im 20 years old and I like the tie stall herds that are under 100 cows. Thats the way to go.
People want cheap food but yet don't give a damn about farmers going out of business. One day its gonna bite them in the ass.
