Norfolk Southern intermodal train 222 heads northeast on the Piedmont Div in Atlanta,GA on 8/17/08.

I went into a hobby shop a week later and I saw a model of the second engine plus a couple months later I bought a Conrail C40-8 #6026 which is this locomotive. Weird!

  • awesome catch! NS 8300? thats gotta be rare now a days!

  • I guess. More and more widecabs are being made and more and more standard cabs are being sent into retirement.

  • He's taking it slow there but once he gets to around Norcross, he'll be flying. I have a vid of him flying through norcross if u want to check it out if you haven't

  • Right after the engines pass the Amtrak station they start to pick up speed. And I've seen your video from Norcross. 5*'s.

  • speaking of model, i have that second engine. no joke.

  • I just can't believe I'm hearing what sounds like a Nathan P5 air horn...on a widecab GE! It sounds great, though. Usually when I see a NS 'catfish', I'm expecting to hear a K5LA horn.

Unlike a lot of railfans, I like the CW40-9Ws that NS has. You might as well like them...they're sure here to stay!

  • yea ive noticed that too
