Interview with Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater

We had the pleasure of sitting down with Master Synth player Jordan Rudess last weekend right before his solo show of "Explorations for Keyboards and Orchestra" in Tarrytown NY. We talked to him a little bit about the creation of his first Orchestral Composition, how he met up with Eren Basbug and the RnL Project, What his involvement with Marco Minnemann has been like, and Who is the new Dream Theater Drummer. Yeah, he didn't seem too jovial about being asked about the new Dream Theater drummer. He seems like a really cool dude, though.

@Bookster343 I think that he probably gets asked that probably everyday. And I believe they have a plan to announce everything soon, they are just working on the right way to do so.

@maximoxlr Jordan is playing with Morphwiz his iPad creation. He is using it while docked into the Altec Lansing Octiv Stage speaker which can rotate and tilt to your liking.

@ArtemusDelphus Yeah, I agree. We have no idea how many times these guys have to answer questions like that, so I think the fans should cut all of them some slack. People should probably get a hobby if the Mike Portnoy replacement issue really bugs them that much. They'll announce the next drummer when they feel like it.

Jordan is a pretty cool dude. But yeah, he didn't seem terribly happy through the whole interview, almost as though he was held against his will or something (which I'm sure isn't the case).

But yeah, it's like MP getting asked every second as to why he left DT for A7X. After the first three days of people asking ME that, I'd be pissed.

why the hell are these guys dragging this shit out. they've been saying soon for friggen months now. i understand its not as simple as picking a guy and thats it; there are legal issues and planning issues but what the hell. stop telling us its going to be soon when you know damn well you're going to wait like 3 more months.
