Un-Boxing my new Blu Ray Player in HD: Panasonic DMP-BD35

"The Panasonic delivers a spectacular sense of scale and domineering authority. There's no doubt that the DMPBD35 is a value-tastic piece of kit, and the benchmark for all budget Blu-Ray players." What Hi-Fi Sound and Vision magazine.

When it comes to excellence in Blu-ray, there're few that can beat Panasonic. The Panasonic DMP-BD35 is a good example of just how far High Definition Blu-ray has come in such a short period of time. Already a visual reference system, Blu-ray is enhanced still further with Panasonic's PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus. Essentially, what this does is to process pixels with twice the colour data - that's twice as accurate as conventional systems. What this means is not only superbly realistic colour but also smooth motion and crisp definition - even on diagonals that are notoriously difficult to reproduce without jagged edges.

Matching the class-leading picture quality is the High Definition audio performance. Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD provide stunning 7.1 surround sound effects when matched to one of the readily available new breed of digital surround sound receivers.

In addition to superior quality sound and vision, Blu-ray takes the experience one stage further with BD-Live. Thanks to a standard Ethernet connection, it's possible to link the player up to the Internet. From here you can download data such as images, subtitles and bonus content linked to specific Blu-ray discs. BD-Live also supports interactive features such as Picture-in-Picture and Audio Mixing.

The concealed SD card slot allows you to show images from your digital camcorder or camera. Finally, VIERA link uses the HDMI v1.3 socket to carry data between the player and your TV, allowing the use of a single remote control to access all the features.

As if all this weren't enough, the Panasonic DMP-BD35 Blu-ray player is super-slim and stylish. If you're in the market for a Blu-ray player, then you'll struggle to find better at this price. Highly recommended!

  • this one is great, but i cant agree that it is better than the ps3, i have a panasonic plasma tv that is 720p, and looks perfect with the ps3

  • I think the panasonic handles motion a bit better, and sound quality is a tad better, but that is the only better points!

  • yo you didnt get the free blu ray disc in the box man bad luck any way ive got that player i think its brill 5 out of 5 better then the ps3 7.1 true hd & dts hd 7.1the ps3 dont have that shit man

  • Ive got one of these, absolute piece of shit. Its slow to use

  • @PsychoSazzer89 If he couldn't open the box, then how the fuck did the BD player get out? You should be more worried about not knowing how to spell "can't". For fuck sake, no wonder why people edit their videos for the thousandth time just to perfect it from non-constructive critical trolls like yourself.

  • @red244 DD (digital download) is already squeezing through the market. In the next 5 years, we'll probably see a standalone hard drive player with maybe just a disk slot hidden on the side to rip your disk-based libraries.

  • ahhh the panasonic DMP BD-35 what a nice BD player. The best thing about this player is that it has an SD memory card slot for BD-live download functionality. Not like other players where you need to have a USB memory stick that needs to be connected for BD-live downloads. Panasonic really makes good quality products.

I also like samsung. My current stand alone BD player is the 3D BD player from samsung model BD-C6900 excellent BD player...3D is the future folks...

  • does your blu ray play auto repeat blu ray titles?

  • Blu-ray is best at the mounment. But....Give it five years and Blu-Ray will be over taken by something else. Besides I still own a HD-DVD player along with my Blu-Ray. Since Blu-Ray is still lacking in comparison to number of producers making their DVD's Blu-Ray. But it is growing so probly remove the HD soon.

  • I brought a HD Plasma Panasonic Viera TV that had a free Blu-Ray player exacly the same

  • does it have an ipod dock?
