@itiswhatitisvato you most likely learned the G chord with different fingering. It doesn't matter how you position your fingers as long as you hold the right notes. I play a different G too,.

remember though the reason she uses the c major chord is because its easier on begginners and has not flats/sharps so it would change according to the scale you are using but the variation of 1,4,5 remains the same
