There is lots of scientific evidence that homosexuality & sexual attraction is wired into the brain. Gay males have similar brain structures as straight females. Male hormone levels in the womb affects sexual orientation.
They can pinpoint the times they have recognized their homosexuality, not choosen. No one just chooses to be in a group that carries social stigma that causes hate crimes against them & teens to commite suicide because they couldn't get rid of their feelings of attraction.

Are you speaking from experience? If not, how could you possibly know that? If a heterosexual person were to abstain for a long period of time, would he or she suddenly realize that he or she was not heterosexual to begin with?
The only choice they make is to be true to themselves. They don't choose to be homosexual, they were born that way and they deserve the right to not be criticized for being who they are.

@kiwisunshine5233 I didn't wake up one day and decide " My life is pretty boring, I'm going to be bissexual!" When I realized my feelings for another girl, I denied it at first, and passed it off as sisterly love. When I couldn't anymore, I cried. Over and over. No one chooses that.

@TheLavish99 you are not a majority, the national average is 8 sexual partners in a life time. kids need to know about how to have safe sex. should kids be encouraged to practice abstinence? definitely, but not as an only option.
-
yes ignorance only education is nothing like this.

"Only promiscuous, horny, immoral, irreligious, impulsive, and easygoing people want to defeat abstinence education" Wow, had no idea that finding abstinence education completely lacking in practical advice made me into all of these things which I am not. The "irreligious" people in the world exist because the "religious" people, of which I assume you are one, talk like complete dickheads.

Love the spoof, assuming it is a spoof.

@jamamerica Abstinence is fine--if that's what you choose. Is it okay with you if I choose to have sex?
PS--I am an atheist--is that okay too?
-
@TheLavish99 I won't support the current abstinence only because it doesn't work. Those "just say no"-brainwashing seminars have been running since Reagan and STD's and ignorance is at all time high amongst teens.
First you need to educate the kids on how to protect yourself WHEN 90% of them will engage in sex when puberty hits. After they all know how to behave responsibly, only then can you also tell that they can choose not to have sex at all. Statistics tell that most won't choose that.

@TheLavish99 I’d also like to challenge the assumed double standard that you hold. You state that "Only promiscuous, horny, immoral, irreligious, impulsive, and easygoing people want to defeat abstinence education.” How is this making things better? Adding unjustified insults to people who want to have different views put in sex ed class. so that abstinence can be taught as one option from many rather than THE OPTION
-
@TheLavish99 It not that Abstinence is a wrong thing. This is very subjective. To one person Abstinence may be the right choice to another its not realistic. Abstinence only sex ed tactics are usually intended to scare children into picking Abstinence and not teaching them about alternatives. This can be dangerous because generally speaking most who commit to Abstinence don’t follow through, and without adequate knowledge on protection, shit happens

@TheLavish99 I'm sorry, I didn't mean to seem as if I was attacking your opinion. I agree that abstinene can be a good choice and I was just answering your question about how comprehensive sex education can help. However, I do have a question for you. How could you say that your opinion is your opinion but then place someone else's opinion below yours by stating it's from a "promiscuos, horny, immoral..." and so forth point of view?
im trying to decide if i want to be abstinent or not..
