There's a strong pattern in me that doesn't want to live anymore. Can you please advise me?

@carriemaizey Your own words: "As to 'world conditions' economic or otherwise, I use some creative thinking. I'm not about to roll over and 'accept what is'?!" I don't say that either. I donate to Amnesty International, but do I really think my contribution is going to stop the evils of the world? No. It will help a little. And it will do me no good to stay awake at night fretting. But I do know I can change myself, and if everyone did so, the world would change by itself.

@carriemaizey I didn't say they would understand - mine doesn't have much of a clue either - I mean whether you are able to remain centered, focused and level-headed around family. These people are generally the strongest attachments/aversions in terms of other individuals we have in life, and therefore the best at pushing our buttons. Look at the lengths people go to in order to avoid their families. That's powerful aversion. As for Ram Dass - well, we disagree on him.

@squamish4244 What planet are you on? 'Talk to someone's family etc ... RUBBISH. I have a plethora of siblings and ET would fly over their heads.
And as for 'changing the world' (?) Where did I say that? We are all facets of the same Godhead and can only change/re align ourselves to smooth the way.
Ram Dass ... Bogus old git.

Die before you die .... .....
Thank you Eckhart. Namaste, peace light and love.

@carriemaizey Ram Dass: "If you want to know whether someone is enlightened, talk to their family." They will show you quickly whether you are really walking the talk more than anyone else. And as for accepting the world the way it is, well, you can do your small part to change the world, but most of what happens we are powerless over. So we do have to accept 'what is' externally.

@mahballzrhari I have his books on audio. I agree he helps a lot with letting go of resentment. Resentment, like guilt and worry, are ultimately pointless. So I don't 'resent' any more. The Power of Now covers the way I feel about this in a Q&A format. I should listen again. BUT. ET is an aesthete, I am not, as are most of us, 'not'. So easier said than done.
As to siblings/parents etc, I don't have to resonate. I'm on the other side of the planet :)

@carriemaizey I don't know. I am just a average guy in 20s who listens to Tolle because at times it lets me go off my resentments.I really didn't get a message of being passive in this talk more about letting go of the need to change people, conditions we truly can't. It's easy to say you ignore people who don't resonate with you but what if they're your siblings, parents, children etc we all can't just go our own way. you live with anyone long enough, you'll find something that doesn't resonate.
-
@mahballzrhari You're missing my point. If someone/friend no longer resonates, I ignore them. Move on. As to 'world conditions' economic or otherwise, I use some creative thinking. I'm not about to roll over and 'accept what is'?!
As an aside, I've yet to hear Eckhart Tolle talking about creativity. His teachings seem far too passive for me. And I live in a Buddhist country.

@carriemaizey that you can do. but you cannot change your family, friends, coworkers, world economic conditions. that's the broader point. take care.
Great clip!
For the people who don't understand, or would mock Eckhart, I challenge you to take more than a superficial glance at what he has to say... Try it.. Really try it. Accept the present moment. Everything changes!!!
