Here at fasthit.net, we like cool crap from thinkgeek.com

Just displaying my love for my drinking bird and how it works. Hope you can understand my rambling/mumbling.

My girlfriend says "ANNUNCIATE!" but she should shut up.

  • so when does the bird stop drinking?? does it run out of the fluid or something?

  • @renegade3355 When the head dries out, for whatever reason. In theory, as long as the felt on the head is still wet, you're still in the game.

  • its not water inside its methyl alchohol or methylene chloride

  • yeah yeah. I don't even remember saying water in the video. Can't be fucked watching it again. But thanks for the repeated "who gives a fuck" updates on the chemical content of my long dead desktop novelty item and I uploaded a video of two years ago.

Anyone else wanna tell me it's not water in there? Let's see how many we can get in 2010. I want at least 5 a month.

  • hahaha relax bud it still helped on my project thanks man

  • Aaah, school project. That's probably why so many people are correcting me. It's probably a fairly popular school experiment. Gotcha!

  • i have this little guy right now his still drinking WOW his really thirsty

  • @renegade3355

Pretty much this is what happens.

    1) The head of the bird needs to be wet

    2) Then the water evaporates

    3) When it evaporates, temperature in the head goes down, which lowers pressure

    4) This causes the red liquid (usually methylene chloride which is also know as dichloromethane to rise to the head)

    5) This will eventually cause the bird to tip into the water, making the head wet with water again

This is a very simplified version, but is fine for the most part.

  • 'saturate this ridiculous thing's head' lol.

  • it's not water

  • Here's #2 for Jan: it's not water; it's methylene chloride.

  • lol *snaps and kills everyone in sight*
