DemocracyNow.org -
Three weeks ago today, 26-year-old Egyptian activist Asmaa Mahfouz posted a video online urging people to protest the "corrupt government" of Hosni Mubarak by rallying in Tahrir Square on January 25. Her moving call ultimately helped inspire Egypt's uprising. "I, a girl, am going down to Tahrir Square, and I will stand alone. And I'll hold up a banner. Perhaps people will show some honor," Mahfouz said. "Don't think you can be safe anymore. None of us are. Come down with us and demand your rights, my rights, your family's rights. I am going down on January 25th and will say no to corruption, no to this regime."

  • She is one of the heroes of this young revolution. Now where have you even seen her in the U.S. mainstream media? That is a choice on their part.

  • ~•~ POWER 2 D PEOPLE ~•~

If U give up now, it'll B as if U've done nothing @ALL.

If 60% of the country lives below the poverty level, then 60% of the country should B in Tahrir Square. &

There should B no compromise w/UR muBarak. Allowing him to stay in power a day longer only gives him time to steal more money from the country & stash it away. He iS planning to LEAVE the country, w/his pockets fool of GOLD.

Is that what the people of Egypt want??

  • Thanx! It's great to see what the egyptian do! Go on, we follow!

Freedom for all people! Down with esploitation - worldwide!

  • Truely a brave woman, more bravery in her body than in the entire american body. It's a shame. We pretend to be brave, and we have a bunch of goobers who still think Bush was an honest man, intead of a criminal. When we figure it out, maybe things will change. WHAT A WOMAN..... Americans are cowards. We fight with drones, they stand and fight with sticks. I love Amy Goodman, another incredibly brave woman.
