I remember this movie, I watched it several years ago and I couldn't find its name since it's not popular. I only could remember the part when the guy was in the market and tried to buy some bananas. Also the last scene when he was returning to Italy after the lynching. Great movie. I think it's a pain that nobody has watched it.

What amazes me is that WASPs gamed the system and had white ethnics who had been lynched and discriminated against INCLUDED as "whites" for the purpose of giving up their opportunities under 'diversity' and 'affirmative action' policies since 1964.

Affirmative action should have compelled the lily white WASPS who benefited from these lynchings, slavery, discrimination and bigotry to pay reparations and give up THEIR opportunities.

Really powerful and often forgotten movie. There isn't many films save Rosewood by John Singleton which is brave enough to delve into the dark underbelly of American History which since the 1880s has had at least 5,000 lynchings

This is based on the story of when 11 Italians where lynched in the largest mass lynching in American history in New Orleans after they were acquitted of murdering the police chief.The only reason Italians were charged is because the cheifs last words were "Dagos did it". The men charged with the crime and others in the jail were lynched by a mob.

i was on set watching the lynching and shooting scene in front of the Kingston Psych Hospital....was super cool. they did it like 10 times so the stuntman was hung like 10 times
