another waste of money by K street lobbyists for some bankrupt shipyard in some bankrupt state.

@MrFattyfatfatboy Being built to civilian construction standards means they aren't built for ANY kind of warfare. The hull in both types can be penetrated by small arms fire, unlike normal combatants which are resistant to anything .50cal or below.

Both the LCS1(Freedom) and LCS2 (Independence) Classes are a basic boondoggle. A report by the Pentagon's director of Operational Test and Evaluation found that neither design was expected to "be survivable in a hostile combat environment" and that neither ship could withstand the Navy's full ship shock trials. And of course, the MASSIVE cost overruns...Qwerty99 had it absolutely right! Every blackshoe in the Navy hates these... and for good reason.

@Qw3rty99 its meant for low intense warfare ,navy hated carriers as well then pearl harbour changed that.

@Lukos0036 Hold on just a minute, you were't addressing the EUs policy in Lybia? Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure you said " Why shouldn't Europ pull it's weight?" which it is obviously doing. France had the biggest footprint in what region, what are you on about? Is that even relevant? How do you know where your oil comes from? I'd highly doubt that none of it comes from the middle east. And I don't know what you mean by MY gas, you don't even know where I'm from.
Speaking as a retired USN sailor: No he wouldn't; because the LCS is an almost useless, over priced gold plater that needs DDGs to defend it from anything bigger than a go-fast. It's hated by almost everyone in the Navy who doesn't work in the Pentagon.
Thanks Light Weight Mafia! (Rumsfield's Defense Department)
