Sony Bravia KDL-26U2000 reset to factory settings.

Set your TV in standy (use the green power butten on your remote), RED standby LED is ON on your TV.

Now press these buttons in this order on your remote (pointing to the TV).

Combination for secret service menu is:
[i+], [5] , [VOL+], [ANALOG TV]

NOW BE CAREFUL! Dont press any keys just for the fun of it!!! IT MAY DESTROY YOUR TV.
You should now be in the service menu. It will show up as some green letter/numbers spread over the screen . In the upper right corner you should have 2 letters TT (two t's).

Now carefully press key 0 and then key 8 on your remote (they should be shown on the screen after the two TT).

It is hard to say what did they done with this LCD-s firmware from the start it should write 40 ap because it is 26 inch TV maybe it is some kind modified firmware .Its hard to tell possibly you can go to som TV repair shop and ask to put the lates original firmware for 26U 2000 .

Hi, yes thats right, I followed your instructions to access the service menu but can't enter anything once I'm there? I've tried holding the button down, pressing it quickly etc but nothing seems to work. We brought the tv cheap from a hotel clearance and think that they altered the settings so that guests in the hotel couldn't mess about with them. Which is why we think we can't get into the menu or retune the digital etc, which is why I wanted to reset to factory settings. Any ideas???

Thats odd you can enter to service menu but cant inser two diggits did I get it right?

forgot to say that on the video we did try to do what it said but the remote wont let us 08 or any other number.

hello to whoever can help,we have a sony KDL-26U2000 television and we have never been able to access the menu from the remote or anything other than through a freeview box,have tried entering the service menu and the black screen with the green info comes up on ours though it says 40"AEP instead of 26 and then it says DCMS3 which is different to the one on the troubleshooting video,can anyone help please,as our tele is useless the tele recognises we are pressing the remote but nothing happens

@MrJackBarrell try google.... Sony has different combinations on LCD so just google KDL-32EX301 service mode and you will find something useful.
