you talk about excess melatonin being bad but most people use it because they are low on it ,,,,and if stress releases melatonin ,why do stressed people find it hard to sleep,,also why not make it a bit more clear that small amounts of melatonin are ok instead of just saying you dont like it ,,,and whos to say what youve read is correct or just another persons opinion.......

@007cambon this guy is an idiot.. STRESS releases cortisol. besides he prob has a pineal gland where I was born without one.. so my doctor prescribed it.. melatonin, for my delayed slep phase disorder. screw this guy.. melatonin has saved my sanity by restoring my sleep:)

Thanks for this. I was thinking of using this but have a lot concerns. This video gave I better understanding of the science related to supplementing melatonin. I won't be using it.

@redflw Sounds like you're trying to sell something.

If you're like me and intend to only use this pill for when absolutely necessary (for me it's when I get into bed and realize I can not sleep ... which is rare, but it does happen once in a blue moon) then it'll not cause any long-term, harmful effects.
I don't agree with Josh anymore. There are many people taking melatonin, and they are happy with the results. Go to iherb, webmd and other websites to read reviews of melatonin users. You'll find positive feedbacks. Too much of anything is not good, so take 1mg, it's more effective than higher dose. Type, "Melatonin Deficiency" on Google, and read "Common symptoms and signs of melatonin deficiency".

That is ok and you are entitled to that. Feeling ok is not a good indicator of health. Study physiology, what melatonin is and does, when and why it is released, etc. I have worked with WAY too many people who have used it for yrs and end up with chronic fatigue, GI issues, hormonal imbalances, inflammation, etc to be a fan of it.

You should setup a formspring.me account and allow people to ask you questions, which you can answer publically

Great idea but unfot no. I am already busy as is and more email questions would take up more of my day than it already does.

@joshrubineastwest whatever. If you answer a question 1:1 there might be other people interested in that question, so you build up a public knowledgebase.
