  • How hard is it to get ports working on FreeBSD these days?

  • Very easy as long you install cvsup and you add this line in the crontab

    0 3 * * * /usr/local/bin/cvsup -g -L 2 -z /etc/cvsupfile > /dev/null

/etc/cvsupfile should contain the closed mirror to you

  • @SeltsamerAttraktor 1999 sorry typo

  • @MrDemilord 199 CE or 199 BCE ?

  • P3 came in 199 not 1997.. just for your interest

  • The Pentium III[1] brand refers to Intel's 32-bit x86 desktop and mobile microprocessors based on the sixth-generation P6 microarchitecture introduced on February 26, 1999

    ....................

  • @206ernesto in 1996 ???? FAIL ...

Pentium 4 was a line of single-core desktop and laptop central processing units (CPUs), introduced by Intel on November 20, 2000

  • @marcellodipietro : use csup - it is writnen in C and it is a part of base system installation :)

  • There weren't pentium 3 in 1997, i bought a Pentium MMX that years adn there stilll wasn't Pentium II....it came out later that year.

You missed the age fo your pc by two yrears, but whatever.

  • freebsd is however built off unix and doesn't use linux although they are somewhat alike. (freebsd and linux that is)
