Man, this crossing gate had everything going wrong with it! It was self triggering (no train) and the gate was slamming down on the asphalt! Would someone please give this thing a little TLC!!! LOL

Filmed in Rome, Ga on the Norfolk Southern Atlanta North Sub.

  • Lmao @ 0:39. Boom. I think that crossing bar needs more counterweights.

  • @nsrailfann4life91 maybe a few pounds worth. ;) thanks for watching!

  • just take a 6 foot bar about 200 feet from the crossing and it will trigger it it probably had a grounding issue

  • @biggdaddy2001 Probably. It was wet and there was a nearby trash pickup crew walking on and near the tracks. Not sure if they were somehow accidentally triggering it or not.

  • Haha i remember when i had one do that around here.

Good thing i got a video of it, it was funny haha.

I'll leave it as a response.

  • @xXDJIndeedXx Sweet! thanks!

  • good thing the gate did not break

  • I been round that area about's live off, I off blacks buff!

  • the signal should also have a sign tht says "Watch your head"

  • make up your mind dumbo crossing up or down?

  • @BamaRailfan I don't think the crew working had anything to do with the malfunction unless they know how to slam on the activation wire for the gate.

I think it was rain which is a very common occurrence. Moisture from rain has been known to foul crossing gates especially in extreme humidity.

  • @BamaRailfan we have a seldomly used set of tracks by my house and we love when it gets really foggy here in fall late at night trigger the lights at our crossing we don't have crossing sticks just lights, my moms friends brother works for the rail road and told my how to trick the system to turn on lol
