Nina Simone did perform an amazing version of this song, but this isn't it. And it's definitely not her in the video, since Simone was african-american.

This is the legendary Nina Simone, 'High Pristess of Soul".  She began playing piano at age 3, and gave her first concert at age 12. Her parents, seated in the front row, were forced to move to the back to make way for white people. She refused to play until her parents were moved back to the front. Her live performnces were regarded not as mere concerts, but as happenings. Many of today's artists credit her as being an important influence. She was one of the best. I stand in awe of her.
