You'd never guess that that was made 1983 from the outside; the arm suggests late '60s, the case could have been 30 years older. Only the date stamp and the IC amplifier make the age of that machine clear. I assume that the separate power transformer was because a winding on the motor wouldn't have provided the current needed to fill a classroom with sound.
Hey Mr. Chad I have no concept of this Hamilton (or for that matter any) record player but as a young-ish (y30) American looking at older stuff I find your video recordings nothing short of amazing. What a tribute to our history to honor old stuff in such a way. Thank you for doing this.
Yep, it has the same exactly motor assembly in my 1974 Audiotronics and 1971 Rheem Califone! It also has the same tonearm and platter on my Audiotronics too.

I have a friend who has a load of old record players and I want to get ahold of them to fix and preserve.

My friend has one of those. We just sit around and listen to his huge collection of 45's . It does put out some nice sound!

Looks like an old Califone record player. The kind of record players I remember in elementary school.

remember to disassemble the turntable spindle and clean off the thick old lube and re-oil. That little drag will mess up the correct speed.

What song are you playing and what artist?
I love it! Sounds like what I heard in the aisles of the old Pantry Pride as a little kid with my Dad in the 70s!
