President Carter speaks to Americans about the "crisis of confidence" in American government, values, and way of life, as the public expresses doubt in a better future for their own children. Carter challenges citizens to unite and address the problems in America by first addressing the energy shortage.

This man speaks the truth,it's a shame people didn't want the truth or to take things on themselves and listened to a feel good,outdated grandpa whose economic policies are responsible for TWO recessions (this one and the one that his poor,saner Veep had to deal with).

It's not right that people hated on this guy for dealing with something entirely the fault of Nixon and Ford,and completely unprecedented.

This is who we need NOW,but can't have.

Jimmy Carter is a wonderful person...he didn't do what he did because of partisanship or the hope to gain support. He did it because he cared about his country. He continues to be a humanitarian and won a nobel prize post-presidency. He's a genuine dude who was just screwed over by the media. So you can be a "real American" and insult great people, I won't stop you...
