  • Guys, I remember this very vaguely. The Manta Ray one too, but can someone give me a detailed explanation of where? I know it's PSX Demo 1, but I can't remmeber what the purpose of it was or how to play it.

It's a hazey memoir for me, sadly - Though the music is like I heard it yesterday.

  • @SWCRskate

Well i'll have to admit that the Tech section of Demo one is very pointless, i only like it for its music, which is why i uploaded. All you basicly do is just look at the dinosaur and you can make it look right or left, open its mouth and show its teeth. Also you can change camera angle view. It's much the same thing as the Manta Ray. I don't really think theres much purpose to it, it's probaly just something to show off some modeling and animation.

  • how did you get this? i cant rip it from the disc.

  • By ripping it, I meant recording it.

  • Now do the Manta ray!

  • The one with the fish? OK! :)

  • Im surprized when you say this stuff. You should be a story teller you know.

  • @SWCRskate The purpose of such demos (still exist for PC today, for graphics, physics..) are to demonstrate the capabilities of a system / software. Like 3DMark, just without measuring stuff and, of course, ensuring it will run well on that system (PSX here).

The fact that you 'controlled' it (head movement, camera angles) demonstrated that this is actually calculated in real time, instead of having 'a movie running'. When the PSX came out, these were impressive graphics for a home console.

  • Good times, good times.

  • Dat Dino ambience.

  • In the remanents of a dark, errie cave lurked a terrible, ominous monster. Some called him the DINO, he was a fericious being of power, pitifully looking down on those lesser than him. His capabilities outmatched all of his digital foes, masticating on their pixels in disturbing glee and rushed off into the unknown darkness of the digital void, to be never heard of again...

  • i used to make it sync with stuff i say haha

  • I remember this used to terrify me :')

  • I remember when I used to try and time it so the dinosaur would show its teeth when you heard the growl haha, actually turned out to be quite difficult

  • Is this Dino Crisis? If it is, i've got first and second versions. :)

  • I have this demo this demo to i loved it cause it was awesome music

I will show my kids this when they are 10 or 8
