This is a project for my MS in Mechanical Engineering at UC Irvine. The goal was to modify an existing remote controlled car so that it automatically balances and drives on two wheels. The attached AVR Butterfly microcontroller uses signals from a gyroscope and a potentiometer to control the steering of the car. The styrofoam and other padding was to protect the car from crashes. The copper tube was previously used to launch the car at a consistant angle. In the video I'm just controlling the throttle, not the steering.
now if only it was alitttle more descreete cause then you could go up to your friends and make bets and get money

Seems more like Electronic Engineering than Mechanical, but good work none the less!
