Split stitch is normally an outline stitch, but I know you how to use it as a fill stitch.

  • @BlessedDove I usually fill from the outside in if I'm filling with spirals. I think it looks neater.

  • @BlessedDove I stem stitch doesn't split the thread of the previous stitch - it comes up just to the side of it.
