Is that so? I'd never read it - and the difference in time is so big, one would think Gus Van Sant didn't take 11 years to make the picture...
Very interesting, though, are Van Sant's words online? The saying is longer than B'52's or Van Sant I read, could be even from the time Idaho was 'created'...

@MrCrachat Gus Van Sant's words not mine. He was working on both at the time. They just got the song out first, which inspired the title of the movie he was directing....

@Jauckor The song is based on a directed movie called "My Own Private Idaho", which has some Idaho to it, but the song is more based on the movie than the state. Having lived there, Idaho has its boring and scenic interesting places just like any other state. :)

i have loved this band since i saw them in 1988 kate was awesome then and age has not withered the talent and fred is 1 of the best frontmen i have ever seen
