WHITPAIN TOWNSHIP, PA -- BOX 46-07 was transmitted at about 0200 hrs Engine Companies 33, 61, 80 and Truck Companies 62 and 61 were dispatched to a report of a house fire. Upon Police Departments arrival they had heavy smoke and fire showing. Ladder 62 was the first arriving unit. Ladder 62 took the front of the building while Engine 33 to the rear of the ladder. Engine 33 stretched the first in line while Ladder 62 went to work. Firefighters J. Hart and J. Connelly forced the door for the engine crew and then proceded ahead of the engine for a search. Batt. Chief D. Mathe and Firefighter J. Clary went to the roof to open up. Firefighter I. Horowitz began horizontal ventilation and conducted a search of the rear of the building. Engine 80-2 covered 33's plug. Ladder 61 took the D side of the building. All searches were negative and the fire is still under investigation. The fire was knocked in about 10 minutes and all units cleared within 1 hour.
