Bush-McCain racist tactics in SC? Tucker responds

Tucker Eskew, a protege of Lee Atwater's, is featured in the film Boogie Man. He helped destroy John McCain in 2000 as a member of W's war room in South Carolina. He went on to be White House Global Director of Communications from 2000-3. McCain recently hired him as a Senior Advisor to the campaign.

Here Tucker discusses George W. Bush and John McCain's 2000 confrontation in South Carolina, and denies charges of racist tactics in the Bush camp.

sure... just like the Rove wasn't involved in the 2002 phone jamming case in NH. Just like he was not involved in the Plame leak.... He learned his trade from Lee Atwater. If something dirty is going on, and there ALWAYS is when it comes to repubs... Rove has a connection. People like you and Bush will swear he's not. but testimony told a different story in the Plame case.

Tucker knew exactly what story was being referred to. He did not address it honestly.

There was a organized effort to push the black baby rumor by the Bush 2000 campaign. A radio station in Greenville SC helped fuel the black baby by a black prostitute rumor. The ultra conservative upstate region, where BJU is located if that gives you an idea of how conservative, was ground zero for the Rove smear machine. The Bob Jones storm troopers kicked into high gear after the New Hampshire loss, and their efforts not only stopped McCain it ruined him forever with the conservative base.

What's worse: being racist or using racism as a political tactic and then lying about it to the cameras? Also what needs to be considered is that the latter implies the former. Or at least a complete lack of conscience.

Tucker Eskew IS the man behind the John McCain black baby, push polling tricks.

They sent out a phone poll that said "If John McCain had fathered a baby with a black woman out of wedlock and kept it a secret, would that affect your view of John McCain?"

Tucker Eskew is a Rove protege, and they both learn all the racist tricks from Lee Atwater. (reagan and bush sr. version of karl rove, responsible for the willy horton ad"
