Maningrida Traditional Music Compilation CD - new!

This video collage was recorded and put together by iDIDJ Australia to accompany a compilation of traditional Aboriginal music from Maningrida community. The video clip includes various Arnhem Land scenes, from hunting expeditions, scenic landscape shots, sacred site surveys, and playing cards at night. Roy Burnyila - a well-known didgeridoo maker from Ramingining - appears mid-way through the clip, talking about relationships to and ownership of land.

The music comes from an audio CD called "Maningrida Traditional Music Compilation". It was recorded in May 2006 by Stephen Marshall, and produced by Bawinanga Aboriginal Corporation and Maningrida Arts & Culture. The compilation includes Walamangu Songs by Kevin Jawunygurr, Midjarn Songs by Jimmy Bungurru, Manjabrei-Balkarraynga Songs by Alan Carter, and last but not least, Yawk Yawk Songs by Ten Canoes actor Crusoe Kurddal (who played Ridjimirriril).

There are 26 tracks in total which run to 37.5 minutes.

Aboriginees are originally Dravidians who immigrated from India! They knew how to live in harmony with nature and even their music seems to come from the wilderness.

Australian Aboriginal people are hypothesised to be Dravidians. Current thought amongst researchers is that lack of modern technology restricted Indigenous peoples from wiping out nature so to speak.

I know they are related to Dravidians as i am related to some. I am a Tamil and when i look carefully at a native face, i see a very strong resemblance to many Tamils i know. Infact Africans, Aboriginees, dravidians i think are very closely related.

Yes, at first i didnt think so aswell, but as humanity originated in africa, that includes africas and asia's and melanesias' and phoenicias and Australia and NewZelands abOriginals people a.k.a so-called black's or darkskinned peoples, so i also seen africans, especifically from west- of the country called Sudan in east-africa, and also in the east of the country called Somalia, in eastAfrica they play the so-called yirdaki/didgerido, ONLY difference is the name of the instrument..

The latest scientific theory is that white skin was a mutation that occurered as people moved awy from the equators( we are all progeny of the original black race). Dark skin is less susceptible to melanoma though is less able to synthesise vitamin D from ultra violet light. Black folk who are not exposed to lots of sun are more likely to suffer the symptoms of vitamin D deficiency than whites. Out of the 25,000 odd genes that we are made up of, only 50 determine colour. Everything is one .
