Michaux Team Challenge (MTeC) A unique and challenging adventure sprint race.
Teams of 4 adults or teens (9-12th grades) are given a map with designated check points that must be visited to collect race tokens. The courses include a 4-8 mile hike on and off trail, a 12-18 mile bike ride on fire roads, a 1-2 mile open water paddle in a white water raft, and a variety of mental and physical team challenges to be performed along each of the race routes.
The courses are run through the Michaux Forest. Race distances will vary with the teams course selection. Teams will race anywhere from 3 to 10 hours over a variety of terrains.
The MTeC race is always held the last Sunday of October and includes an outdoor Contemporary Worship Service prior to the event. The race concludes with a catered meal and post-race awards ceremony.
