El Garrote. The Garotte

Escena de la estupenda serie de televisión "la huella del crimen". El episodio es " El crimen de las estanqueras" Recoge el funcionamiento del Garrote y la última ejecución. He escogido esta última de las tres que hay porque la interpretación me parece sublime. Como le echa huevos el personaje, que consuela al fraile. ¡¡Vamos!!

The garrote is very humane.

Unrealistic: if it broke that wood it would have snapped his neck: particularly at the speed it was tightened. That was the general idea. Most had a bolt in the back to do this anyway.

Over dramatic: if it snapped that block of wood in a second it would have done the same with his spine breaking his neck with none of that gagging.
