FYI an EMT and Paramedic are 2 different things. Paramedics are more skilled than EMTs and go to school much longer.

Is there a way to make more money than 30k a year? Like what promotions are available?

EMT-B's make 25-40 grand. Paramedics make 45-75000 median in California. I know a Paramedic making 85000 in San Francisco after 4 years. It all depends by city and state.

no thats ok haha. I'm not an emt anymore anyway. I have family who are professional firefighters and make about that with over time extra calls. probably around 60 if they only did there 2 24 hour shifts per week. I wasnt thinking ff/emtp, I was only thing emtp at a commercial company or hospital... National average is horribly low at 40k ish for 40 hours per week.

Emt-p in the chicago fired dept make the exact amount per year as the fire fighters.I think it should be different pay scale since emt -p Are always busy while the fire bugs sleep.emt's deserve more dinero
