Please comment, tell me how you thought it sounded.

Give a man 10 years of unemployment and he can create anything,
I Have!, and its this New way to preserve older discs, film, tapes.

I was always appalled at the lack of Top end (treble) that most restored CD's
Of older material had, once i started mucking about with 78's I got it back

So hear for the first time the FULL range of frequency that is locked into each and every 78rpm disc.

Any if you like what you hear, Drop a line! you never know you might have some discs or know of someone with discs they'd like to hear properly.

Oh and Im a purist when it comes to the original sound on Disc, I love my MONO restorations as its the way nature intended them to be heard, These YOUTUBE restorations are in "Fake Stereo" an effect I created by pure accident due to a few broadcasters wanting me to "slapback reverb" them for ONAIR use, I went with another, Unique Method. heard here for the first time.

And those pure mono versions are on my blog, you get to choose from two versions, a "good" one and a Too Much Noise Reduced One "TMNR" !

who else gives you such choice, Oh and if anyone out there is Hiring at the moment,,,,, CD Companies? Archives? umm... Call centures?

  • I know that you added the fake stereo to a pure mono result that sounds great. What I meant that you sometimes have a situation at the beginning or ending of a record where you're confronted with the problem of fading in or out (particularly at the end). I sometimes add a little bit of reverb at THAT very end to make fade out easier. And I'm sure my results won't be better than yours. As regards to your claim: there's quite a few out there that are easily as good as you.

  • @syncopeter Oh I see, no I wouldn't do that, just a fade is all that's needed, there was no reverb on the master so will be none on mine, that's my philosophy anyway/

Quite a few Eh? perhaps so, Ive only been impressed with about 3 people ive ever heard here on youtube and they had mint discs..... I also Transfer and restore for Free. Its my passion, not any kind of 'work' as far as im concerned.

  • I've just transferred 750 sides into digital, to restore. And I've got another 600 waiting....

I only want a pure mono result without any added effects. I sometimes do add a tiny bit of reverd in case of a rough start or a very abrupt end that is hard to fade out, but that's it.

Nice result, but too bad of the fake stereo.

  • @syncopeter Don;t really understand your comment, Im a pureist and only have em in mono, no reverb whatsoever, not even too 'Sweeten' em, thats not on as far as Im concerened, I just added the ol Fake stereo effect too this one too see what people thought, Of course I made a fine mono restoration for my self! Good news on your discs, perhaps you could send some my way, your REALLY cabn't get a better transfer/Restoration than me you know....

  • Good!

  • Wow - thank you very much. Great to hear just what a wonderful pianist Billy Mayertl was. He plays his own pieces much more quickly than anyone else I have heard.

Restoration is wonderful. Do you have any more?
