Well, now that I've been studying Dave Weckl for a while, I will say that despite his feet not being able to go as fast as Mike Mangini's or Virgil's, Thomas Lang', or whoever else can be included, I will say I totally favor his feel over any drummer I've ever heard, including Dennis Chambers, and I really love Dennis' listening ability. It's sick. :)

Have you seen Akira Jimbo's level of independence? There are other guys who are better, but I can't think of them! :( But anyway, I DO agree with you that Steve Smith has very good "interdependence" as he calls it.

wear is Vinnie Colaiuta in this list!!! I think he gives Virgil a good for run for his money. If anything Vinnie maybe better. Dont get me wrong Virgil is god.

yah, steve smith has the best independence so he should be on that list but, donati's feet are amazing and i thing more people should realize that this is what double bass is for, not that timwaterson shit everyone crazes over

You see, while Virgil Donati's hands and feet are pretty much equals, and are also superior to anyone else's (with a possible exception of Mike Mangini), Weckl's hands and feet are not. Hey may be kinda like the next Buddy Rich, but he should work on his feet a lot. Dave Weckl could easily be the world's best if he REALLY worked his ass off.

You think there are 5? Yeah, me too! My choices in order are: 1. Virgil Donati 2. Mike Mangini 3. Johnny Lang 4. Dennis Chambers 5. Johnny Rabb.
My choices are based on how COMPLETE they are in their physical development for all 4 limbs. Notice the Dave Weckl is not listed, even though he is a drummer I favor for his musical abilities.
