Pakistan has nothing to do with Qawwali, the real Qawwal is Punjabi and from the heart's of the Doab, such as Jalandhar.

..Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan as Indian even though he was born in the Pakistani city of Faisalabad AFTER the partition! I wish Indians could accept Pakistan the way we accept and love their artists. But it´s always our artists going to work over there. Seldom does any Indian come to Pak.
Sorry I don´t mean anything bad. Just want ppl to know that even though we share a great deal of things with India (which I´m happy about), we need credit too!

Salaam! Thank you so much for your lovely and TRUE comment! I love India and respect them as neighbours, they´ve got some great culture over there...HOWEVER, some ppl there still have issues about Pakistan since it broke away from them. It´s not fair of some Indians to try and claim every good thing that comes from Pak as Indian. They just want to hijack Pakistani talent but not wanting to deal with Pakistanis. So unfair.
They even tried to present the great Ustad...

I know the history of the Qawalli. Here we are talking about Faiz Ali Faiz who hails from Pakistan not India.

I think you'll find that the creation of qawwali is acredited to Amir Khusro, by fusing indian and persian music.... in 13th century india

AmaoNoBolso - There is no indian in this music. Rather Faiz Ali Faiz is from Pakistan. Please do not give out inaccurate information as this medium is worldwide and pretty soon everything becomes indian when actually there is no indian influence in the art of Qawalli.
