i remember i was with my girl and my station got called out, i said can i go she said sure, we drove up and she waited at the station, on the way back we got another call so shes still waiting. i later was on my way to her house got called out again, then after that call we finally at down to eat and got toned again, she has absolutly no problem with it shes a keeper lol

i take it you never get over the adrenaline rush when the pager goes off and your not paying attention.ive been volunteering for a year now and still get pumped up when the pager goes off.(Walker County GA,fire dept)

@speedy2528 I Know exactly what you mean, I'm an explorer now too, and just today, right as my dad left to go to the store, we get toned for a AFA. Right as he was leaving again later today, we toned again for an open burn. Needless to say, I missed both calls.

I have a Uniden Bearcat scanner, and I am the only exploder with one because my dad used to be an EMT and all. I cant go to calls on school hours but my dad told him he was able to go on EMS calls when he was 16, lucky bastard...

Its 14 (atleast in my area though) Explorers just cannot go on first out truck, nor go to spills, hazmat, and during school hours.

I'm a explorer but I agree the tones never drop when you want them to. I can be bored out of my mind thinking "it'd be nice if the tones dropped so i can go to the station for once". Then as soon as my parents (aka my ride since I can't drive yet) start doing something or yardwork the tones drop and guess who has no ride? Haha.
