Deflation of BC Place Stadium, formerly the world's largest air-supported dome stadium and host of 2010 Winter Olympics opening and closing ceremonies, condensed from 40 minutes into 53 seconds. The roof will be replaced by a retractable top. The building you see in the background as the deflation completes is GM Place, home of the Vancouver Canucks. Royalty-free music from incompetech.com.

@TheUltimatePhillyFan the roof uses a lot of electricity to keep the dome up. vancouver wants to be an enviro-friendly city. so they've decided to replace it with room that can open and close to save energy

@wkozaa123
If you are talking about stadiums like BC place, the only two stadiums that I know of in North America that are like that are the Metrodome in Minneapolis, and the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. I would figure the Metrodome would be the bigger of the two.

since it was the largest air supported dome stadium in the world, it is now going to be the largest cable supported system in the world

It's not just the roof that is being replaced. They are replacing all of the old seats, they're putting in a big jumbotron, they're upgrading the luxery boxes, bathrooms and a bunch of other things. @lilazzhole
