The World's Ugliest Dog ® Contest is looking
for beauty-challenged mutts and
pedigree dogs from around the
world for its 22nd annual
World's Ugliest Dog ™ Contest.

The contest occurs on
Friday, June 23, 2010 at
6 p.m. during the
Sonoma-Marin Fair in
Petaluma, California.

Entry forms can be downloaded
at http://www.sonoma-marinfair.org or
requested by calling
707-283-3247 (FAIR).

The winner
will take home a minimum of
$1,000 in prize money along
with a trophy. The winner
of this acclaimed competition
also is catapulted into an
international limelight. Past
winners have had their photos
on nearly every newspaper in
America (and many overseas)
and are featured guests (with
their owners) on talk shows.
Previous years shows have also
been aired on Animal Planet.

Last year, the winning streak
held by the Chinese Crested
breed was broken by Pabst, a
boxer with an underbite
who hailed from Citrus Heights,
California. Contest organizers
encourage entries from all
breeds and from locations
across the world. Limited
special travel vouchers may be
available for U.S. entrants.

Pabst claimed $1,600 in
prize money and a year-
round modeling contract
with House of Dog, a
manufacturer of upscale dog
accessories who sponsored the
Ugly is the New Beautiful
Fashion Show that
entertained the audience
during judge deliberations
and featured models and
adoptable rescue dogs.
Prize money of $500 and
a trophy are awarded to
the Ugliest Dog of 2010
which qualifies the dog to
compete for the World title.

Prizes of $100 go to the
finalists in the Pedigree and
Mutt classes. House of Dog
provides all entrants with dog
accessories. All dogs must enter
a prequalifying round to ensure
they are truly ugly before
they take the stage.

Also all dogs must have
certification from their vet
demonstrating that they
are healthy.

If dog-lovers cant make
the contest, but think their
dog is worthy of recognition,
they are invited to enter him
or her in the hugely popular
World's Ugliest Dog ®
